Rowan Atkinson (Actor) .. Enrico Pollini
Born: January 06, 1955 in Consett, County Durham
Best Known For: Mr Bean and Blackadder.
Early-life: Rowan Sebastian Atkinson was born in Consett, County Durham, on January 6, 1955. He is the youngest of four sons of a farmer and company director. Rowan was educated at Durham Choristers School, St Bees School and Newcastle University. He also studied for a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at Oxford, where he began his comedy career. He became friends with writer Richard Curtis and composer Howard Goodall during his time there.
Career: Atkinson's first professional success came in 1978 via the radio show The Atkinson People; it was co-written by Curtis and produced by Griff Rhys Jones. He then became part of the Not the Nine O'Clock News team before creating the character of Edmund in The Black Adder 1983. The sitcom ran for four series and a number of specials. He also created the affable idiot Mr Bean, who appeared in a number of one-off TV specials and two hugely successful films. Other projects include Johnny English and its sequel, The Thin Blue Line, The Witches, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Rat Race. Atkinson also appeared at the Olympics opening ceremony and returned to the West End stage to star in Quartermaine's Terms. He was awarded a CBE in 2013.
Quote: "People think because I can make them laugh on the stage, I'll be able to make them laugh in person. That isn't the case at all. I am essentially a rather quiet, dull person who just happens to be a performer."
Trivia: He is an avid fan of cars, even writing articles about them for various magazines.
Seth Green (Actor) .. Duane Cody
Born: February 08, 1974 in Overbrook Park, Philadelphia
Best Known For: Voicing Chris Griffin on Family Guy and a string of acting roles.
Early-life: Seth Benjamin Gesshel-Green was born in Overbrook Park, Philadelphia, on February 8, 1974 to teachers Barbara and Herbert. He has a sister, Kaela. Seth has worked as an actor since the age of seven and his early credits include roles in The Hotel New Hampshire (1984), Billions for Boris (1984), Radio Days (1987) and Can't Buy Me Love (1987).
Career: One of Green's biggest early roles was Oz in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He has also starred in three Austin Powers movies and has numerous TV acting credits to his name for a whole variety of series, including Tucker, That ‘70s Show, Greg the Bunny, Four Kings, and Dads. He is also heavily in demand for voice work. He voices Chris Griffin in Family Guy, Leonardo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Monty Monogram in Phineas and Ferb, Lt Gibbs in Titan Maximum and various characters on Robot Chicken. His other movie credits include My Stepmother is an Alien (1988), America's Sweethearts (2001), Rat Race (2001), The Italian Job (2003), Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004), Sex Drive (2008) and Old Dogs (2009).
Quote: "There's never a sure-fire good career move except doing good work."
Trivia: In 2009, he won a Primetime Emmy for his work on Robot Chicken.
Cuba Gooding Jr (Actor) .. Owen Templeton
Born: January 02, 1968 in The Bronx, New York
Best Known For: His Oscar-winning performance in Jerry Maguire.
Early-life: Cuba M Gooding Jr was born on January 2, 1968, in The Bronx, New York, the son of singers Shirley and Cuba Sr. He has two brothers, vocalist Tommy and fellow actor Omar. Gooding's father moved the family to Los Angeles in 1972, but left them shortly afterwards, and the children were raised by their mother alone. Gooding Jr got his first professional break as a dancer, and performed with Lionel Richie at the closing ceremony of the 1984 Olympic Games.
Career: Bitten by the acting bug, Gooding Jr landed roles on TV shows such as Hill Street Blues and MacGyver in the late 1980s. In 1991, he landed a part in the film Boyz n the Hood, and it launched him on the road to stardom. Small but important roles in the likes of A Few Good Men and Lightning Jack led to bigger parts in Outbreak and Losing Isaiah. However, it was the 1996 smash Jerry Maguire, which saw him win a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, that really put him on the map. Since then, his career has been patchy, with movies such as Pearl Harbor and Rat Race alongside meatier fare such as As Good As It Gets and American Gangster. He continues to be an in-demand actor.
Quote: "I have never made a decision based on race and never will. I am admiring of my fellow peers, black film-makers and black actors and actresses. When Halle and Denzel won Oscars, I felt pride because I was black, but never did I analyse their win based on colour."
Trivia: In 2013, Gooding Jr made his Broadway debut in The Trip to Bountiful.
John Cleese (Actor) .. Donald Sinclair
Born: October 27, 1939 in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset
Best Known For: Monty Python and Fawlty Towers.
Early-life: Born John Marwood Cleese on October 27, 1939, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, the son of an insurance salesman who had changed the family name from Cheese. At school, Cleese was captain of the cricket team, but by the age of 13, his interest in comedy had developed and he kept a notebook of jokes. In 1960, he began studying law at Cambridge and joined the famous Footlights entertainment troupe, where he met Graham Chapman.
Career: Cleese's showbiz break came with The Frost Report. By 1969, he and Chapman were working alongside Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam on Monty Python's Flying Circus, which made them household names. He left the group in 1972, although they reunited for several films. In 1975, Cleese and his then wife Connie Booth wrote and starred in Fawlty Towers, which was a worldwide hit. Projects since include A Fish Called Wanda, which he co-wrote, two Bond movies, and two Harry Potter films. He has also appeared in 3rd Rock from the Sun and Will & Grace. His stand-up show, The Alimony Tour, proved hugely popular in 2010; his most recent film, God Loves Caviar, was released in 2012.
Quote: "My mum died at the age of 101, and just towards the end, as she began to run out of energy, she did actually stop trying to tell me what to do most of the time."
Trivia: He published his autobiography, So, Anyway, in 2014.
Whoopi Goldberg (Actor) .. Vera Baker
Born: November 13, 1955 in New York
Best Known For: Her many starring film roles.
Early-life: Born Caryn Elaine Johnson in New York on November 13, 1955. She was reportedly nicknamed Whoopi after whoopee cushions due to flatulence as a child. The surname Goldberg was adopted for the stage as her mother thought a Jewish-sounding name was more appropriate for a theatrical career. After beating a heroin addiction, Whoopi decided to become an actress, inspired by watching Nichelle Nichols as Uhuru in Star Trek. She worked in a bank, as a bricklayer and in a mortuary while trying to get her career off the ground.
Career: On moving to California in 1974, Whoopi helped found the San Diego Repertory Company and honed her performance skills doing stand-up comedy. She made her movie debut in 1982's Citizen, but became a huge star in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed drama The Color Purple three years later. She has stuck largely to comedies such as Jumping Jack Flash, Sister Act and Monkeybone since, although she has appeared in such dramas as Girl, Interrupted and Boys on the Side. In 1991 she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Ghost. She also had a semi-regular role in Star Trek: The Next Generation and has taken several bit-parts in US sitcoms. She also appears as a regular on American daytime talk show The View. She returned to the stage in 2010 in the musical versions of The Lion King and Sister Act.
Quote: "My family is Jewish, Buddhist, Baptist and Catholic. I don't believe in man-made religions."
Trivia: She is a member of the National Rifle Association.
