Early-life:
Born on April 13, 1988 in New Canaan, Connecticut to news anchor Brian Williams and television producer Jane Gillian Stoddard. She attended New Canaan Country School and Greenwich Academy before going on to study at Yale University. While at Yale, she was part of the improv comedy troupe Just Add Water and the YouTube series College Musical. She graduated in 2010 with an English degree.
Career:
Williams was cast in the television series Girls after a YouTube video of her performing a mashup of Nat King Cole's Nature Boy and RJD2's A Beautiful Mine received widespread praise online. She also wrote and appeared in a number of Funny or Die sketches, where she played Kate Middleton, and had a recurring character in the comedy web series Jake and Amir. Her TV credits include The League, The Mindy Project and The Simpsons. She had a starring role in the comedy horror film Get Out (2017).
