Early-life: Gemma was born in London on November 29, 1982. Her father grew up in Hong Kong and her mother was originally from China. Gemma was raised near Sevenoaks in Kent. She went on to read law at Worcester College, Oxford. After graduating, she was offered a training contract with a law firm but opted to pursue an acting career instead and studied at the Drama Centre London. In 2006, she was one of the models in season one of Project Catwalk.
Career: Chan made her TV debut in the 2006 miniseries When Evil Calls. Her first major role came in 2009 when she played geologist Mia Bennett in a special episode of Doctor Who. She made guest appearances in The IT Crowd and Sherlock before landing recurring roles in Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Fresh Meat and Bedlam. More recently, she starred in the Comedy Central comedy Brotherhood and Channel 4 sci-fi drama Humans. Her film credits include Submarine (2010) and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014).

Trivia: Chan worked as a model to fund her studies, appearing in campaigns for Nokia and Selfridges.

Early-life: Allison Brooks Janney was born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 19, 1959 to a jazz musician and an actress. Her two brothers are also musicians. A keen skater in her youth, she switched to acting after suffering a debilitating injury. Her mother, who had trained at New York's Academy of Dramatic Arts alongside Golden Girl Rue McClanahan, inspired her to take up the profession. Allison studied at Kenyon College, where she was discovered by former pupil Paul Newman when he returned to direct a play there.
Career: On Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward's advice, Janney enrolled at New York's Neighbourhood Playhouse, but she struggled to land decent roles. She made her big-screen debut in 1989's Who Shot Patakango? and also enjoyed a two-year stint in TV soap opera The Guiding Light. Small parts followed in Wolf (1994), The Ice Storm (1997), Primary Colors (1998) and American Beauty (1999). She won four Emmy awards for her role as CJ in The West Wing. She's since appeared in Hairspray (2007), Juno (2007), The Help (2011) and The Way Way Back (2013). Her recent TV credits include Mom and Masters of Sex.

Best Known For: Playing Chris Finch in the sitcom The Office.
Early-life: Ralph Michael Ineson was born in Leeds on December 15, 1969. He took Theatre Studies at Lancaster University and spent time as a teacher at York Sixth Form College.
Career: Probably best known for his recurring role as Chris Finch in the sitcom The Office, Ineson has also starred in Playing the Field, Between the Sheets, Coronation Street, Suburban Shootout and Waterloo Road. More recently, he has starred in the miniseries Titanic, Game of Thrones, Case Sensitive, Prey and Peaky Blinders. A prolific character actor, he has more than 100 TV and film acting credits to his name.
