Best Known For: Being one of the best actors of his generation.
Early-life: Born Burton Stephen Lancaster in New York on November 2, 1913. He joined the circus as an acrobat until a hand injury forced him to quit. He was introduced to acting in the army during the Second World War when he performed with the United Service Organization (USO).
Career: After appearing in a Broadway play, Lancaster attracted the attention of a Hollywood agent, which led to him making his film debut alongside Ava Gardner in The Killers (1946). Lancaster went on to win an Academy Award for Elmer Gantry (1960) and he was also nominated for From Here to Eternity (1953), Birdman of Alcatraz (1962) and Atlantic City (1980). He demonstrated his acrobatic ability in The Crimson Pirate (1952). Other film credits included Apache (1954), The Kentuckian (1955), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957), and The Unforgiven (1960). In a glittering career, he worked alongside a number of Hollywood icons, including Kirk Douglas, Gary Cooper, Clark Gable, Audrey Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Paul Newman and Sophia Loren. He died on October 20, 1994, at the age of 80.

Trivia: Lancaster's first TV role was a guest spot on Sesame Street in 1969.
Denis Lawson (Actor) .. Urquhart
Born: September 27, 1947 in Perthshire, Scotland
Best Known For: Being Ewan McGregor's uncle.
Early-life: Denis Stamper Lawson was born on September 27, 1947, in Perthshire, Scotland. His sister, Carol, is the mother of actor Ewan McGregor. Their parents hailed from Glasgow, but moved to Crieff to escape the poverty-stricken city. They later owned a watchmaker and jeweller's store. He remains very close to his family, and inspired Ewan to become an actor. Lawson left Crieff in the early 1970s to pursue his career in London.
Career: Lawson's first big success was in West End musical Pal Joey. He also appeared in such memorable TV productions as The Merchant of Venice, Rock Follies and The Man in the Iron Mask. He had a small role in the original Star Wars trilogy, was in the acclaimed Local Hero in 1983, and took the lead in sitcom The Kit Curran Radio Show. He has rarely been out of work since, whether it's on stage, film or TV. Among his other projects are The Ambassador, Bob Martin, Hornblower, Holby City, Bleak House, Robin Hood, Enid, Just William, Marchlands and New Tricks. He's also a director and has worked with his nephew on the theatre production Little Malcolm and his Struggle Against the Eunuchs, and short film Solid Geometry.

Trivia: He voiced a character in the video game Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader.
Peter Capaldi (Actor) .. Oldsen
Born: April 14, 1958 in Glasgow
Best Known For: The Thick of It and Doctor Who.
Early-life: Peter Dougan Capaldi was born in Glasgow on April 14, 1958. He is Irish on his mother's side and his father's family was from Italy. While attending Glasgow School of Art, he was the lead singer in a punk rock band called the Dreamboys. The drummer in the band was Craig Ferguson, who went on to become comedian and American chat show host. It was also while studying that Peter landed his breakthrough acting role in Local Hero in 1983.
Career: Playing mainly minor roles, Capaldi went on to feature in episodes of Minder, C.A.T.S. Eyes, The Lair of the White Worm, Rab C Nesbitt, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Agatha Christie's Poirot and the miniseries Selling Hitler. He returned to the big screen when he wrote and starred in 1993's low-budget Soft Top Hard Shoulder. Guest starring roles followed in Prime Suspect 3, The Vicar of Dibley, Judge John Deed, My Family and Midsomer Murders. His profile raised significantly in 2005 when he began playing foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker in BBC comedy The Thick of It, a role that won him a Bafta. He also played Tucker in movie spin-off In the Loop. Always in-demand, his other TV credits include Skins, Torchwood: Children of Earth, The Nativity, Getting On and The Hour. He is currently playing the twelfth incarnation of the Time Lord in Doctor Who, a role he had long coveted.

Trivia: A lifelong Doctor Who fan, Capaldi was invited to audition for the role of the Eighth Doctor, which was eventually taken by Paul McGann, but turned it down, saying, "I loved the show so much, and I didn't think I'd get it, and I didn't want to just be part of a big cull of actors."
Jenny Seagrove (Actor) .. Marina
Born: July 04, 1957 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Best Known For: Being 'A Woman of Substance'.
Early-life: Jennifer Ann Seagrove was born on July 4, 1957, in Malaysia. Her father had been sent to the country during World War Two to work for British Intelligence as he spoke fluent Japanese. He later became a businessman. Seagrove was sent to boarding school in England when she was nine. She claims her solo flying trips to and from home turned her into a fiercely independent traveller. After completing her education, she trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in London.
Career: Jenny made her film debut in Moonlighting in 1982, but comedy drama Local Hero and miniseries A Woman of Substance made her name. She has starred in such movies as Appointment with Death, A Chorus of Disapproval, and Don't Go Breaking My Heart, which she also produced. She also appears on stage regularly, and has starred in such successes as The Female Odd Couple, a version of Neil Simon's comedy classic, and The Constant Wife. Jenny featured in West End play The Secret Rapture, took the lead role in the 2001 movie Zoe, and played Jo Mills in the legal drama Judge John Deed. She continues to work extensively in theatre.
