Marvin Humes (Presenter)
Born: March 18, 1985 in London
Best Known For: Being a member of boy band JLS.
Early-life: Marvin Richard James Humes was born in London on March 18, 1985, to a Jamaican father and an Anglo-Scottish mother. He has two brothers, Jackson and Leon. For three years between 2000 and 2003, Marvin could be seen playing Robbie Waring in medical drama Holby City. In 2004, he started his music career in a band called VS.
Career: VS were managed by Blue member Simon Webbe but they failed to make any kind of impact and split after releasing one album. Humes went on to join boy band UFO. In 2008, they auditioned for The X Factor but had to change their name because it was already being used by another group. They decided on JLS and they ended up reaching the final of the talent show, losing out to eventual winner Alexandra Burke. JLS went on to sign a record contract with Epic Records and released their debut album in November 2009. It was a huge success and went on to sell more than 1.4million copies. They released a further three albums and a greatest hits collection before deciding to call it a day. Their final concert was at the 02 arena in London on December 22, 2013. Away from JLS, Humes has tried his hand at presenting his own radio show on the Capital Network and co-presented This Morning with his wife, Rochelle. In January 2014, he began co-hosting The Voice UK alongside Emma Willis.
Quote: On proposing to Rochelle: 'I can't tell you how many times I'd rehearsed what to say but when the moment came to speak, it all went to pieces - the only time I've ever messed my words up.'
Trivia: Humes supports Chelsea FC.
Rochelle Humes (Presenter)
Born: March 21, 1989 in Portsmouth
Best Known For: The Saturdays.
Early-life: Rochelle Eulah Eileen Wiseman was born in Portsmouth on March 21, 1989. Her parents divorced when she was three. She went on to attend Colin's Performing Arts School. She did a little modelling and finished third in a Miss England contest. In 2001, Rochelle was chosen from thousands of hopefuls on the S Club Search TV series to become a member of S Club Juniors, a younger spin-off of pop group S Club 7.
Career: S Club Juniors were all in their early teens and they were originally intended to be a support act for S Club 7, but they soon had a following of their own and began to release records. In 2003, the name of the group changed to S Club 8. They released two albums and appeared as characters on children's TV series I Dream. They split up in early 2005. In 2006, Humes was a member of a group called The TigerLilys, but they disbanded before releasing any material. Her big break came in 2007 when she became a member of girl group the Saturdays, whose members include fellow former S Club 8 member Frankie Bridge. They released their debut album, Chasing Lights, in 2008. Since then, they have released a further three albums and headlined a number of concert tours. Away from singing, Humes has appeared on the BBC Three comedy panel show Sweat the Small Stuff, and presented This Morning alongside her husband, former JLS singer Marvin Humes. In December 2013, she was a contestant on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
