Best Known For: Being a judge on The Great British Sewing Bee.
Early-life: Patrick was born in Edinburgh on May 1, 1972 to James and Susan. During his time as a boarder at Bernard Castle School, he represented Scottish rugby union at U18 and U19 level. Any chance of a glittering rugby career was cut short by a shoulder injury. He went on to study material sciences at the University of Leeds. His course included a year spent at the University of Orleans. After graduating, he returned to the United States and spent time working as a ski instructor, a nanny, a landscape gardener and a model agent.
Career: After returning to Britain in 1995, Grant embarked on a career in marketing. In 2005, he raised the funds needed to buy struggling Savile Row bespoke tailor Norton & Sons. By 2011, Norton's customer base had increased from around 20 clients in 2005 to several hundred. Grant is best known to the general public for his work as a judge on the BBC series The Great British Sewing Bee.
Quote: On his role at Norton & Sons: 'My main job is greeting customers and discussing exactly what they want before my cutters and tailors do all the hard work.'
Trivia: In 2013, he was made an Honorary Professor in Business at Glasgow Caledonian University.
