Reese Witherspoon (Actor) .. Susan Murphy/Ginormica
Born: March 22, 1976 in Nashville, Tennessee
Best Known For: Walk The Line, and Legally Blonde.
Early-life: Born Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon on March 22, 1976, in Nashville, Tennessee, to surgeon John and nursing teacher Betty. She travelled a lot during her childhood as her father was a military doctor. She modelled, acted in local commercials, and won a talent contest at 11. At 16 she attended an open audition for movie extras and impressed director Robert Mulligan so much that he offered her the lead role in 1991 movie The Man In The Moon, which gained great acclaim. She went to Stanford University, but took a break from studying in 1998 when her career took off.
Career: A series of TV roles, including Diane Keaton's Wildflower and miniseries Return to Lonesome Dove, got Witherspoon noticed. After several unremarkable movie projects, she starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in commercial success Fear in 1996, winning an army of young fans. A string of hits soon followed, including Freeway, Pleasantville, Cruel Intentions, Election, American Psycho and Legally Blonde, establishing her as a major Hollywood star and prompting her to set up production company Type A Films. Movies since include The Importance of Being Earnest, Sweet Home Alabama, and Legally Blonde 2. She wowed critics with a breathtaking performance in Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, for which she landed an Academy Award. Her recent films include Penelope, Four Christmases, How Do You Know, Water for Elephants and This Means War.
Quote: On pregnancy: 'I love the luminosity that pregnancy brings, I love the fleshiness, I love the ample bosom - it gave me much more to play with.'
Trivia: In 2010, Witherspoon received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Seth Rogen (Actor) .. B.O.B
Born: April 15, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia
Best Known For: Knocked Up
Early-life: Vancouver-born Rogen began his career doing stand-up comedy during his teen years, winning the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest in 1998. While still living in his native Vancouver, he landed a small part in TV series Freaks and Geeks. Shortly after Rogen moved to Los Angeles for his role, Freaks and Geeks was cancelled. After landing a job as a staff writer on the final season of Da Ali G Show, for which Rogen and the other writers received an Emmy nomination, he was guided by film producer Judd Apatow toward a film career.
Career: Rogen was cast in a major supporting role and credited as a co-producer in Apatow's directorial debut, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. After Rogen received critical praise for that performance, Universal Pictures agreed to cast him as the lead in Apatow's directorial feature films Knocked Up and Funny People. Rogen and his comedy partner Evan Goldberg co-wrote the films Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Green Hornet. Rogen has done voice work for the films Horton Hears a Who!, Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Paul.
Quote: 'Reality and honesty is the most important thing. As soon as it feels like we're making a joke where there wouldn't be one, then we don't do it.'
Trivia: Rogen is a member of NORML (the National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws).
Hugh Laurie (Actor) .. Dr Cockroach
Born: June 11, 1959 in Oxford
Best Known For: His double-act with Stephen Fry
Early-life: Born James Hugh Calum Laurie on June 11, 1959, in Oxford, the youngest of a doctor's four children; his father was also a gold medal-winning rower at the 1948 Olympics. After attending Eton, Hugh followed him into the sport, competing for England and in the Boat Race while at Cambridge, where he studied archaeology and anthropology. While president of the university's Footlights entertainment group, he met Stephen Fry. After touring Australia with their revue The Cellar Tapes, they teamed up professionally.
Career: Fry and Laurie's stage success led to the TV sketch show Alfresco, which also featured Emma Thompson, Ben Elton and Robbie Coltrane. In 1987, Elton cast him in sitcom Blackadder the Third as amiable idiot George. A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and Jeeves and Wooster cemented his reputation as one of the UK's brightest comedy talents. He appeared with several celebrity pals in the movies Peter's Friends, Maybe Baby, and Sense and Sensibility. Other projects include 101 Dalmatians, The Man in the Iron Mask, Stuart Little and its sequel, the Flight of the Phoenix remake and TV series Fortysomething. His novel, The Gun Seller, was also a hit. His award-winning role in House turned him into an international star. Since it ended in 2012, Laurie has largely concentrated on music.
