Born: January 17, 1978 in Keighley, West Yorkshire
Best Known For: Being the lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs.
Early-life: Charles Richard Wilson was born in Keighley, West Yorkshire, on January 17, 1978. His first band was called Runston Parva (later just Parva). He was an art lecturer at Leeds College of Art and Design for a year before the Kaiser Chiefs were formed.
Career: Parva released one studio album, 22, in 2003, before they renamed themselves as the Kaiser Chiefs. With Wilson as lead vocalist, the indie rock band's original line-up also comprised guitarist Andrew 'Whitey' White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick 'Peanut' and drummer Nick Hodgson. Vijay Mistry replaced Hodgson in 2013. The Kaiser Chiefs released their first album, Employment, in 2005, and it went on to sell more than three million copies. The band continues to release albums and tour around the world. In January 2014, Wilson became a coach on the third series of The Voice UK, joining will.i.am, Tom Jones and Kylie Minogue.
