Early-life:
Javier Manuel Hernandez Jr was born on February 20, 1978 in Montebello, California. A chance encounter led to his start in acting. While in a lift in a high rise building in Los Angeles, talent manager Howard Tyner told Jay that he had what it took to have a successful career in Hollywood. Howard then enrolled Jay into an acting school and sent his pictures to casting agents.
Career:
Hernandez made his TV debut in the sitcom Hang Time, which he stayed with for two seasons. He got his big screen debut when he co-starred with Kirsten Dunst in Crazy/Beautiful (2001). Since then, he has appeared in a number of major Hollywood films, including Hostel (2007), Quarantine (2008) and Suicide Squad (2016). He has also appeared in such TV shows as Six Degrees, Nashville and Gang Related.
