Reboot of the 1980s crime drama, starring Jay Hernandez as an ex-Navy Seal returning from Afghanistan who decides to ply his trade as a private investigator in Hawaii, while also acting as a security consultant for an estate. Ex-Navy SEAL Thomas Magnum settles into his new life as a private detective in Hawaii and is pulled into a quest for vengeance and a hunt for Iraqi gold.

Best Known For: Playing Paxton in the Hostel films.

Early-life: Javier Manuel Hernandez Jr was born on February 20, 1978 in Montebello, California. A chance encounter led to his start in acting. While in a lift in a high rise building in Los Angeles, talent manager Howard Tyner told Jay that he had what it took to have a successful career in Hollywood. Howard then enrolled Jay into an acting school and sent his pictures to casting agents.

Career: Hernandez made his TV debut in the sitcom Hang Time, which he stayed with for two seasons. He got his big screen debut when he co-starred with Kirsten Dunst in Crazy/Beautiful (2001). Since then, he has appeared in a number of major Hollywood films, including Hostel (2007), Quarantine (2008) and Suicide Squad (2016). He has also appeared in such TV shows as Six Degrees, Nashville and Gang Related.

Trivia: He was in the same mathematics class as skateboarder and actor Frank Miranda while studying at his first high school, Don Bosco Technical Institute.
