In the first of two This World documentaries examining the stories behind the nation's favourite beverages, adventurer and broadcaster Simon Reeve looks at the production of tea. He begins in the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa, where most of the leaves for teabags are bought at auction, before travelling through eastern Africa to meet some of the millions of people who pick, pack and transport it. He drinks tea with everyone from Maasai cattle herders to the descendants of the original plantation owners, and hears claims of low wages and child labour
