A New Dawn

Alastair Sooke concludes the documentary by revealing how the decline of the Egyptian empire ran parallel with a creative revival that produced, among other proclamations of the pharaoh's power, colossal statues of Ramses II. He then discovers that invasions by foreign powers such as the Nubians and the Romans led to the production of hybrid forms of art, before revealing a selection of satirical work that continues to inspire Egypt's graffiti artists today
