David Morrissey (Actor) .. Ian St Clair
Born: June 21, 1964 in Liverpool
Best Known For: Playing The Governor in AMC TV series The Walking Dead.
Early-life: David Mark Morrissey is the youngest of four children and was born in Liverpool on June 21, 1964. When Morrissey was 15, his father, a shoe repairman and key cutter, died after suffering from a blood disorder. David was inspired to become an actor after seeing Ken Loach's film Kes. Aged 16 he joined the Everyman Youth Theatre during the golden age of dramatists Alan Bleasdale and Willy Russell. His contemporaries included Cathy Tyson and Ian Hart. He also spent time working on sets and costumes for a Wolverhampton theatre company.
Career: Morrissey's big break came at the age of 18 when he landed the lead role of Billy Rizley in Channel 4's first drama series, One Summer. After that he trained at Rada. A steady stream of small-screen and theatre roles followed. At the 2004 Bafta awards, Morrissey was nominated for Best TV Actor for his performance in the drama serial, State of Play. In the same year, The Deal, in which he co-starred as Gordon Brown to Michael Sheen's Tony Blair, won the award for Best Single Drama. Projects since include Blackpool, Cape Wrath, Red Riding, Basic Instinct 2, Nowhere Boy, Mrs Mandela, Doctor Who and a starring role in adaptations of Mark Billingham's Tom Thorne books for Sky1. In 2012, he joined the cast of The Walking Dead, and continues to work on stage whenever his busy schedule allows.
Quote: "You never have any control over what people write or what they think, but there is a sense of me as a working-class lad done very well. I don't know where that comes from."
Trivia: Morrissey is a lifelong Liverpool FC fan.
Lesley Manville (Actor) .. Julie Jackson
Born: March 12, 1956 in Brighton
Best Known For: Her work with director Mike Leigh.
Early-life: Lesley was born in Brighton on March 12, 1956. She trained as a soprano singer from the age of eight and went on to secure a place at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She made her professional stage debut in the 1972 West End musical I and Albert and had a recurring role on Emmerdale Farm in the mid-1970s, playing Rosemary Kendall.
Career: A frequent collaborator with Mike Leigh, Manville has appeared in a number of his films, including Secrets & Lies (1996), Topsy-Turvy (1999), All or Nothing (2002), Vera Drake (2004), Another Year (2010) and Mr Turner (2014). In 2011, she starred in Mike Leigh's play Grief at the National Theatre. Her other stage roles include His Dark Materials, The Alchemist, All About My Mother, Her Naked Skin, Six Degrees of Separation, and Ghosts, for which she won an Olivier Award. On the small screen, Manville has starred in David Copperfield, The Cazalets, North & South, and Cranford. More recently, she has appeared in Mayday, Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond, and River.

Lorraine Ashbourne (Actor) .. Daphne Sparrow
Best Known For: Her role as philandering female footballer Geraldine in TV's Playing The Field.
Early-life: Born in Manchester in 1961, Ashbourne always dreamed of being an actress and on leaving school joined a local theatre. Her sister, Jayne, is also an actress who appeared in Coronation Street and New Street Law. While at drama school, Lorraine contacted Debbie Horsfield to say she would love to work with her. Her first acting job was in the Red Devils, a trilogy of plays by Horsfield, which formed the inspiration for new BBC One drama, True Dare Kiss.
Career: After years of working in theatre, plus character roles in TV shows like The Bill, Casualty and London's Burning, she landed a part as the mother in Colin Firth movie Fever Pitch. She went on to star as Yvonne Mackey in City Central and as the fiery Geraldine Powell in the soccer drama Playing The Field. Other projects have included The Martins, King Kong, Jayne Eyre and Housewife, 49, True Dare Kiss, and The Street.
Quote: "People think I just came from nowhere. But I've worked hard over the years and now it's all happening."

Best Known For: Atlantis.
Early-life: Born Robert James MacPherson in Horley, Surrey on May 20, 1986, he studied at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. In 2008, he was praised by critics for his performance in The Glee Club at the Library Theatre in Manchester.
Career: Emms's big break came in 2009 when he starred in the National Theatre's production of War Horse after it transferred to the West End. He would go to play a part in Steven Spielberg's movie adaptation. His TV credits include guest roles in Waking the Dead, The Street and Scott & Bailey. He reached a wider audience in 2013 when he was cast in a lead role in BBC fantasy drama Atlantis. Other than War Horse (2011), he has appeared on the big screen in Anonymous (2011), Mirror Mirror (2012), Broken (2012), The Selfish Giant (2013) and Kick-Ass 2 (2013).
Quote: "You never know who is going to recognise you. It's exciting but also quite scary."
Trivia: On stage, Emms played both Billy and Albert Narracott in War Horse. In the film version he played David Lyons, the son of Narracott's rivals.

Best Known For: Citizen Smith and My Family.
Early-life: Born Robert Lindsay Stevenson on December 13, 1949, in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. One of three children, his Second World War veteran father worked as a joiner and his mother was a cleaner. He failed his 11-plus exam and went to the Secondary Modern Gladstone Boys School. Despite having a miserable time there, his art teacher spotted his acting talent in a school production and encouraged him to take it up seriously. He originally intended to become a drama teacher, but worked in regional theatre companies after attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Rada).
Career: Lindsay's movie debut came in 1973's That'll Be the Day. His big break came in 1977 when he played would-be revolutionary Wolfie in John Sullivan's BBC sitcom Citizen Smith. After that he concentrated on serious roles. Theatre parts include Hamlet and Cyrano De Bergerac, but his biggest stage hit to date is musical Me and My Girl, for which he won numerous awards on both sides of the Atlantic. He made his Hollywood debut in the ill-received Bert Rigby You're a Fool in 1989, but Alan Bleasdale's TV series GBH put his career back on track. Since then, successes include Jake's Progress, The Wimbledon Poisoner, Brazen Hussies, Hornblower and My Family. More recently, he's starred in detective drama Jericho, played Tony Blair in A Very Social Secretary and The Trial of Tony Blair, traced his family on Who Do You Think You Are? and starred in Sky1 sitcom Spy.

Aisling Loftus (Actor) .. Sandy Waters
Born: September 01, 1990 in Nottingham
Best Known For: Mr Selfridge.
Early-life: Aisling was born in Nottingham on September 1, 1990 to Paddy and Eileen. She has an older sister, Aoife. She began acting at a young age at the Carlton Junior TV Workshop.
Career: Loftus was only nine when she made her TV debut in an episode of Peak Practice. Since then, she has had guest roles in a number of programmes, including Casualty, Doctors, The Bill, Five Daughters and the TV movies The Fattest Man in Britain and Dive. On the big screen, she has starred in Oranges and Sunshine (2010) and Death of a Superhero (2011). More recently, she has played Agnes Towler in popular ITV drama Mr Selfridge and Sonya Rostova in BBC prime-time drama War & Peace.
Quote: "Luckily I've worked pretty consistently and on projects I've been proud to do and proud of, like Mr Selfridge."
Trivia: In 2011, Loftus played Poppy at the Old Vic Theatre in Michael Frayn's Noises Off.
