About this Broadcast

Egypt to Oman

The third leg of Simon's journey takes him from the banks of the Nile to the edge of the Indian Ocean in Oman. Along the way he is introduced to Nubians displaced by the formation of Lake Nasser in the 1960s and nomadic Bedouins who have been forced to move by a seven-year drought scientists believe is due to climate change. On Egypt's southern coast, he dives in pristine coral reefs, before seeing the unexpected sides of Saudi Arabian life
