Early-life: Born on 16 November, 1965, in Guisborough in the North East, Mark hoped to follow in the footsteps of his uncle, actor Michael Gunn. Always the class clown, he fell in love with the theatre and spent many years trying to make a career out of acting. He was in the same drama class at the Stockton-Billingham Tech as actress Elizabeth Carling. Some of his early acting experience came with the Middlesbrough Youth Theatre, with performances in plays such as Atmos Fear and Twist.
Career: Benton's big break came in the 1997 Mike Leigh film Career Girls. For the past decade he has barely been off our screens. He had a recurring role as Father McBride in the James Nesbitt series Murphy's Law. He has starred with Vic and Bob in their remake of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Catterick, and Monkey Trousers. He was comedy gold in Craig Cash's Early Doors and The Booze Cruise trilogy. His biggest role was alongside Robson Green in Christmas Lights, Northern Lights, City Lights and Clash of the Santas. He was also a regular on Waterloo Road and is the host of game show The Edge. In 2013, he was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Trivia: Benton is a die-hard supporter of Middlesbrough FC and has featured in the club's official season ticket advertising campaign.

Born: May 31, 1982 in Middlesborough
Best Known For: Presenting BBC Breakfast.
Early-life: Stephanie Rose McGovern was born on May 31, 1982 in Middlesbrough. During her teen years, she was awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship for her potential to be a future leader in the engineering sector. She then went on to study Science Communication and Policy at University College London.
Career: McGovern did work experience on the BBC's Tomorrow's World programme before getting a part-time job as a researcher in current affairs. After graduating from university, she became the main producer for daily financial news on Radio 4's Today programme and later the lead producer for business news on various BBC news programmes, working alongside business editor Robert Peston. McGovern made her debut as a presenter in 2012 on BBC Breakfast. She became the show's main business presenter, as well as an occasional co-host for the main show. Other TV shows she has worked on include Pocket Money Pitch, Shop Well for Less?, Can Britain Have a Pay Rise? and Watchdog.

Chris Kamara (Actor) .. Himself
Born: December 25, 1957 in Middlesbrough
Best Known For: Being a footballer and a football pundit.
Early-life: Christopher Kamara was born in Middlesbrough on December 25, 1957 to Albert and Irene. His father was from Sierra Leone. Being one of the few black families in his neighbourhood, he suffered a lot of racist abuse. Chris joined the Royal Navy when he was 16 and he was spotted playing football for the Navy by Portsmouth manager Ian St John, who signed him in November 1974 after paying the Navy's £200 buy-out fee. Chris made his first team debut for Portsmouth in August 1975. He was sold to Swindon in 1977 and went on to make 147 appearances for the club.
Career: Kamara returned to Portsmouth in 1981 for a brief spell before moving on to Brentford in the same year. A second spell at Swindon between 1985 and 1988 was followed by stints at Stoke City, Leeds United and Luton. He joined Bradford City as a player-coach in 1994 and was appointed manager of the club in November 1995. He had a disastrous spell as manager of Stoke City in 1998. Since then he has been a football pundit for Sky Sports. In April 2015, he began co-presenting ITV game show Ninja Warrior UK alongside Ben Shephard and Rochelle Humes.

Jeff Stelling (Actor) .. Himself
Born: December 06, 1955 in Hartlepool
Best Known For: Presenting Soccer Saturday and Countdown.
Early-life: Stelling was brought up in the north-east of England in Hartlepool. He attended Rift House Primary School and West Hartlepool Grammar School for Boys. After an apprenticeship at Newcastle United he joined the local newspape. His first broadcasting position was as a reporter on Middlesbrough FC on Radio Tees. He was a sports presenter on London's LBC Radio Sportswatch programme in the early 1980s before moving to BBC Radio 2's weekend sports programme Sport On 2, covering the Los Angeles and Seoul Olympic games.
Career: He later spent time as a sports newsreader at TV-am, Channel 4, Eurosport and British Satellite Broadcasting before moving to Sky in 1992 to present coverage of horse racing, snooker and darts. In 1994 Stelling became presenter of Sports Saturday, which became Gillette Soccer Saturday in 1998, hosting a programme lasting up to six hours of football discussion and live reports on the afternoon's games with a panel of pundits. It became hugely popular, and Stelling made a name for himself with his quick-witted one-liners and passion for the game. He presented Channel 4 game show Countdown for three years.
