Early-life:
Born Danielle Jane Minogue on October 20, 1971, she is the youngest of three siblings. Older sister Kylie is a singer and actress, while big brother Brendan is a news cameraman. Dannii started her career in show business at a young age, following in Kylie's footsteps by appearing in several soap operas, including Skyways and The Sullivans, before becoming a regular on the children's show Young Talent Time. In 1988, she left the show to concentrate on her acting career.
Career:
Her breakthrough role was as rebellious teen Emma Jackson during a short stint in the soap Home and Away. In 1988, she launched her own clothing line and signed a recording deal a year later with Mushroom Records. Throughout her career, Minogue has juggled acting and presenting with a singing career, and has worked extensively on stage. In recent years, her music career has taken a back seat to her jobs as judges on The X Factor (2008-2010), Australia's Got Talent (2007-2012) and Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model (2013 onwards). Away from performing, Minogue supports a number of charities, including The Terrence Higgins Trust, and has long been a supporter of research into breast cancer.
