About this Broadcast

-
Bangladesh to Burma

Simon witnesses the effect of extreme poverty on the people of Bangladesh, where children are put to work for as little as 30 pence a day. His journey down the River Padma shows the threat of climate change on the densely populated country as melting Himalayan ice prompts the collapse of its banks, and introduces him to the national sport of Kabbadi, from which he escapes with only minor injuries. He then crosses the border to Burma to begin the most dangerous leg of his trip
