Taurus Mountains to Istanbul
In the second half of the journey, Simon travels along the Black Sea Coast to the capital of Ankara and the Northern Highlands, witnessing first hand the aftermath of fighting in Kurdish areas and meeting a conservationist attempting to preserve the region's brown bears. He then returns to Istanbul, where he takes part in a popular TV series set in the palace of the Ottoman Sultans

Early-life:
Simon was born in London on July 21, 1972. He had a number of jobs after leaving school, including working in a supermarket and a charity shop. In 2001, he began making travel documentaries for the BBC.
Career:
Reeve's travel documentaries for the BBC include Meet the Stans, Equator, Tropic of Capricorn, Explore, Indian Ocean, Australia with Simon Reeve, Sacred Rivers with Simon Reeve, Ireland with Simon Reeve and Greece with Simon Reeve. While working as an investigative reporter, he wrote books about Osama bin Laden and the Munich massacre that took place during the 1972 Summer Olympics.
