Being a former Blue Peter girl.
Early-life:
Hill was born on April 15, 1971, in Poole, Dorset, and grew up in Essex. She has fond memories of her first acting experience - in the school nativity play - and her first job was working in a record shop. Hill is also a great admirer of Jim Carrey - her favourite film is Dumb & Dumber. Initially she planned to become an optician but took a year out and went travelling.
Career:
On her return, she decided against university and began working in local radio. Katy's Capers was her first show on BBC Radio Essex. She then approached the Blue Peter editor but needed more experience, so she worked in the BBC Children's department and for cable channel Nickelodeon before becoming the 23rd presenter of Blue Peter, where she stayed for five years. In June 2000, she left the show to spread her wings. She co-hosted the Millennium 2000-1 quiz show with Michael Parkinson, as well as the now-defunct Live and Kicking.
Quote:
"I did five years on Blue Peter - it had been my dream since I was about five years old." They were amazing years, but I felt I had done everything I wanted to do.

She has fronted a number of campaigns for Arm & Hammer.
