Dad seems terribly miserable on his birthday, and no one seems to know the reason why. Mum, Adam and Jonny are dumbstruck when he finally reveals the reason is that he's realised he'll never go into space because he has used a website to calculate the date he's going to die. Jim conjures up some special 'tricks' for the occasion and Grandma Goodma - aka Horrible Grandma - turns up uninvited, thus making a terrible birthday the worst yet. Mum is in hospital having a 'woman's procedure', so Aunty Val is tasked with making the Friday night dinner. To Adam and Jonny's horror, she spends most of the evening glued to a dating app, before showing them several photos of semi-naked men. Val is especially obsessed with one guy, who goes by the name of Loverboy 309. The object of her lust is picking Val up from the house in 40 minutes. Thus begins an evening of hell for the Goodmans, as Val forces them to eat their lamb dinner in record time. Tue 17The Females — Friday Night Dinner
Adam and Jonny finally bring their 'females' home to meet their parents, and just to add to the potential confusion both girls are called Lucy. Before the objects of their affection can make it out of the car, the boys rush into the house to give Mum and Dad a last-minute rundown of the 'rules'. Though Mum seems delighted, Dad fails to make the best first impression. Nevertheless, the evening is saved from complete disaster thanks to some exciting revelations.
