Early-life:
Linda was born in Dublin on February 23, 1959, to Tommy and Maureen, who had worked as singers in Ireland. The family moved from Dublin to Blackpool in 1962 and a year later, the Singing Nolans was launched. The original line-up featured Linda with her parents and her brothers Tommy and Brian, and sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen and Bernie. They performed on the northern club circuit.
Career:
By 1974, the daughters began performing as the Nolan Sisters and the line-up included youngest sister Coleen. In 1975, the girls supported Frank Sinatra on a European tour. They released a number of singles and albums and their best-known song is I'm in the Mood for Dancing, which was released in 1979. Linda left the group in 1983 to pursue a solo career. She has also enjoyed an acting career, notably the lead role of Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers. In 2014, she took part in Celebrity Big Brother and was evicted five days before the final.

Trivia:
In 2006, Nolan underwent a partial mastectomy to remove a four-inch tumour and 11 cancerous lymph nodes.
