With their children flying the nest, Andy and Alida have decided now is the time to fulfil their dream of buying a chalet in the French Alps. They are downsizing their house in Wokingham, Surrey, and splitting the funds between the UK and France, so Laura Hamilton and Jonnie Irwin have been sent on a joint mission. With a total of £650,000 to spend, and three shots each to find the perfect property - Laura in Berkshire and Jonnie in the ski-resort of Morzine - the pressure is really on for both of them to deliver

Jonnie Irwin (Presenter)
Born: November 18, 1973 in Leicestershire
Best Known For: Presenting A Place in the Sun.
Early-life: Jonnie was born in Leicestershire on November 18, 1973. He grew up on a small farm and he was a keen sportsman, playing rugby for Lutterworth RFC and Rugby Lions RFC. He went on to study Estate Management at Birmingham City University and worked for business transfer specialists Christie & Co.
Career: In 2004, Irwin began co-presenting Channel 4's A Place in the Sun with Jasmine Harman. He has also presented Escape to the Country and To Buy or Not to Buy. In 2011, he had his own show on Sky1 called Dream Lives for Sale. More recently, he began presenting The Renovation Game.
Quote: 'There are a lot of people who maybe want to go abroad and live or completely relocate but not many people who want to do that in front of two million viewers on a Friday night.'
Trivia: In 2013, Irwin received an honorary doctorate from Birmingham City University.
Laura Hamilton (Presenter)
Born: April 24, 1982 in Greenwich, London
Best Known For: Being a TV presenter.
Early-life: Laura was born in Greenwich, London, on April 24, 1982. After deciding that an offer to study law and psychology at university wasn't for her, she managed to secure a job as a runner at Channel 4. She moved up to the position of assistant floor manager and worked on a number of productions, including Top of the Pops, The Games and Big Brother.
Career: Hamilton got her first break in front of the camera in 2004 on CITV's Fun Song Factory. She went on to cover red carpet events for Nickelodeon and presented Nick Jr's morning show Wake Up World. In 2012, she began presenting Fort Boyard: Ultimate Challenge and joined the roster of presenters on A Place in the Sun. She regularly writes for the A Place in the Sun magazine. In 2011, she participated in Dancing on Ice and finished second. In early 2014, she was a contestant on Channel 4's reality series The Jump.

Trivia: Hamilton supports a number of charities, including When You Wish Upon a Star. A keen traveller, Laura has visited many countries around the world.
