Early-life: Born Lauren Cecilia Gofton on April 28, 1978, in Sunderland, and grew up in a middle-class suburb. She has presented shows on Radio 1, Xfm London, Radio 6 Music and Radio 2, and co-hosted BBC Two's The Culture Show since 2006. She was one of the hosts of 10 O'Clock Live on Channel 4 between 2011 and 2013.
Quote: "Being on the telly and the radio is a lot easier than going round the country playing gigs."
