Career: Mitchell and Webb put together their first project in January 1995, a show about the First World War. From this, the duo were given the chance to write for Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller and for series two of sketch show Big Train. In 2001, they were commissioned to write a sketch show of their own, entitled The Mitchell and Webb Situation, which ran for six episodes on the now defunct cable channel Play UK. The pair's big break came in 2003, with starring roles in the Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show, which led to movie projects. In solo work, Webb has appeared in offbeat sitcom The Smoking Room, and the film Confetti. Other projects include Fresh Meat, Our Men, Ambassadors and Marple.

Career: After graduating, Mitchell worked an usher at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. He and Webb took a number of shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before being asked to write for Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller and for surreal comedy series Big Train. Solo, Mitchell has appeared on 10 O'Clock Live and numerous panel shows, including Would I Lie to You?, where he's a regular team captain. His autobiography, Back Story: A Memoir, was published in 2012.

Career: Colman's first TV work came in the series Bruiser in 2000, and was followed by appearances alongside her old friends David and Robert in The Mitchell and Webb Situation sketch show. She had a brief role in The Office, but it wasn't until Peep Show, Look Around You and Green Wing came along that people started to sit up and take notice. Since then she's featured in Hot Fuzz, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Beautiful People, Doctor Who, Twenty Twelve and Rev. More recently she made the move from comedy to drama in The Iron Lady, the hugely acclaimed Tyrannosaur and Hyde Park on Hudson. In 2013, she starred in the acclaimed ITV drama Broadchurch, which won her a Bafta TV award for Best Actress.

Career: Fitzmaurice is known for acting, comedy and writing. Some the acting roles he is best known for are in comedy series, including Ray Von in Phoenix Nights, Jeff Heaney in Peep Show and Fergus in Mount Pleasant. However, he has also appeared in drama series, such as Buried, The Bill and Little Boy Blue. Fitzmaurice was also a writer for Phoenix Nights, That Peter Kay Thing, Benidorm and feature films Going Off Big Time and Charlie Noades R.I.P.

Career: Hadland began making her mark on TV in episodes of Bad Girls, Casualty, The Bill, Peep Show and Doctors. She landed bigger roles in Green Wing and Broken News. Since then, she has starred in Moving Wallpaper, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Horrible Histories, Waterloo Road, The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff and The Job Lot. On the big screen, she has starred in Confetti (2006), Magicians (2007) and Leap Year (2010). She reached a wider audience in 2009 when she began playing Stevie in BBC sitcom Miranda.
