Adam tries to celebrate his birthday, but the evening is spoiled when Sheila Bloom, who is famously obsessed with her car, makes catty remarks about his vehicle. His father then reveals he used to date her years ago, upsetting Mum in the process. Finally, the family abandons dinner and heads to a Chinese restaurant, only for Sheila to reappear, forcing Dad to explain what the pair really got up to

Tamsin Greig (Actor) .. Mum
Born: June 12, 1966 in Kent
Best Known For: Green Wing, Love Soup and Episodes.
Early-life: Born on July 12, 1966, in Kent. She is descended from a Scottish grandfather on her dad's side and a Jewish great-grandfather from Poland on her mum's side. She grew up in Kilburn, north London, and showed a talent for acting at an early age - she claims, as a middle child, it was her way of getting attention. Tamsin graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in drama. Before breaking into showbusiness, she was an administrator for the Family Planning Association.
Career: Greig achieved a cult following playing Debbie Aldridge in The Archers on Radio 4 and had early TV roles in Blue Heaven, Neverwhere, Faith in the Future and Wycliffe. In 2000, the sitcom Black Books helped boost her profile. She had a cameo in 2004 movie Shaun of the Dead, and in the same year appeared in the first series of cult medical sitcom Green Wing, for which she received a Royal Television Society award and a Bafta nomination. She's also featured in Doctor Who and took a key role in romantic comedy- drama Love Soup. Stage credits include the Royal Shakespeare Company's Complete Works Festival. Greig won a Laurence Olivier Award for her role in Much Ado About Nothing. Recent TV work includes the sitcoms Friday Night Dinner and Episodes, and black comedy series Inside No 9.

Born: August 19, 1984 in Guildford, Surrey
Best Known For: The Inbetweeners.
Early-life: Simon Antony Bird was born in Guildford, Surrey, in 1984. He attended the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, where he became an accomplished violinist and took part in a variety of orchestras. He then moved on to study English at Queens' College, Cambridge. Alongside his studies, he got involved with the illustrious Footlights drama group, eventually being elected as its chairman in 2005.
Career: After leaving Cambridge, Bird set up the sketch comedy group The House of Windsor with Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas. They performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and 2008, receiving favourable coverage in the national press. His breakthrough came in 2008 when he was cast as Will McKenzie in the delightfully crude high-school sitcom The Inbetweeners. He was named Best Actor at the 2009 British Comedy Awards. Three series of The Inbetweeners was followed by a hugely successful movie version. The movie sequel was released in August 2014. He has also hosted comedy panel show The King is Dead and starred in Friday Night Dinner and Chickens.

Born: January 14, 1988 in London
Best Known For: Friday Night Dinner.
Early-life: Thomas Alan Smith Rosenthal was born in London on January 14, 1988, the son of TV producer Christine Smith and sports presenter Jim Rosenthal.
Career: In 2011, Rosenthal began starring in Channel 4 comedy Friday Night Dinner alongside Simon Bird. His other TV credits include Plebs, Breathless and Broadchurch. When he is not acting, he is performing stand-up.
Quote: "I still get petrified before I go on stage. I actually get worried if I'm not nervous beforehand."
Trivia: Rosenthal supports Arsenal FC.

Born: May 13, 1958 in Wolverhampton
Best Known For: A string of performances on the stage and the small screen.
Early-life: Born May 13, 1958, the fourth of six children from a working class family in Wolverhampton. She couldn't afford to go to drama school; instead, she did a postgraduate degree in theatre studies at Cardiff University. At one point considered working for the Samaritans: "I went to a Samaritans meeting and had an initiation period, but it wasn't for me."
Career: Started acting with Hull Truck Theatre Company, and by 25 had been accepted by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Had bit parts in Michael Palin comedy The Missionary, and A Zed and Two Noughts. Achieved a mainstream breakthrough in 1987 with the movies Sammy and Rosie Get Laid, and Prick Up Your Ears. Has worked steadily since, with highlights including epic miniseries Rhodes, John Thaw drama Plastic Man, and Michael Caine movie Shiner. Other projects have included the Pet Shop Boys' West End musical Closer To Heaven, and TV offerings Manchild, The IT Crowd, New Tricks, Where The Heart Is, Funland, Doctor Who, The Fattest Man in Britain, Silk, The Spa, and Psychobitches.
